#WhyHome on The Conversation Hour

On Wednesday 10 December 2025, the Home Time campaign launched its second national day of action, #WhyHome.

We invited supporters and schools from across Australia to take a moment to look through the eyes of the children in their lives and hold a meaningful conversation about youth homelessness, led by kids.

Children were asked, “why do kids need a home?” and their written responses were posted across social media to generate empathy and raise awareness of the issue of youth homelessness.

Home Time representative Shorna Moore spoke with ABC’s The Conversation Hour about #Whyhome and the reminder of the importance of listening to the littlest voices in our lives.
